CertainTeed Roof Inspection in Fresno: What to Know First
CertainTeed roof inspection in Fresno typically runs between $195 and $350 for a full assessment, and we complete most inspections within 48 hours of your call. That price includes a written report with photos, and if you hire us for the repair, we credit the inspection fee toward the work.
This page is for homeowners who own a CertainTeed roof and want an inspection from a crew that knows the product line well enough to spot problems before they turn into water in the attic. We’re an independent CertainTeed service provider in Fresno, not an authorized dealer, and we inspect these roofs every week. Call (559) 785-2160 to schedule.
How CertainTeed Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
CertainTeed makes solid roofing materials, but every product line has weak points that show up under Fresno conditions. Here’s what we find most often when we walk a CertainTeed roof in this Valley.
- Landmark shingle granule loss from heat cycling. Fresno summers push roof surface temperatures past 160 degrees, and the Landmark line can shed granules faster here than in coastal climates. You’ll see bare patches along south-facing slopes first. If granule loss is minimal, we document it and set a re-check timeline. If it’s extensive, we quote replacement before the mat starts breaking down.
- Presidential Shake TL cupping at the edges. The heavyweight Presidential Shake TL looks great but its thickness makes it more prone to edge lifting when the decking expands and contracts through our dry summers and damp winters. We check every perimeter shingle and re-seal lifted edges with a compatible adhesive rather than replacing the whole slope.
- DiamondDeck underlayment seam separation. Older CertainTeed installs that used early-generation DiamondDeck synthetic underlayment sometimes develop seam splits as the material ages. Water gets under the shingles, runs along the seam, and finds a nail hole. We look for staining on the decking in the attic as part of every inspection, because this failure hides until the leak is already active.
- Flintlastic peel-and-stick delamination on low slopes. CertainTeed’s Flintlastic SA system works well on low-slope sections, but Fresno’s long dry season can cause the selvage edge to dry out and lift if it wasn’t rolled properly at install. We check every edge, and if we catch it early, it’s a simple re-adhesion. If water has already gotten in, the decking repair drives the price up.
- WinterGuard failure at eave lines. CertainTeed WinterGuard is a good ice-and-water barrier, but in Fresno it’s doing less ice work and more valley-heat work. When it’s installed past its shelf life or stored in a hot warehouse, the adhesive can go dead. We test adhesion at the eaves during inspections because that’s where the first drip edge leak appears.

Our CertainTeed Roof Inspection Process
Here’s what a CertainTeed roof inspection looks like when Brennan Roofing Co Fresno shows up. Every step is written down, photographed, and explained in plain English.
- 1
You call, a live person answers. We ask what you’re seeing and when it started. If you’re not sure what you’re seeing, that’s fine. Tell me what you’re seeing and I’ll tell you what it actually means. We schedule the visit.
- 2
We walk the roof and map every slope. We check shingle condition, granule loss, flashing at penetrations and valleys, drip edge, and any low-slope sections. Every CertainTeed line has its own failure signature, and we know what to look for on each one.
- 3
We go into the attic if you have one. Decking stains, mold at the eaves, daylight through the ridge, and insulation blocking ventilation all get photographed. A roof can look fine from the top and be failing from underneath.
- 4
We test the high-risk spots. Flashing adhesion, WinterGuard tack at the eaves, seam integrity on synthetic underlayment, and pipe boot flexibility. These are the spots where CertainTeed roofs fail first in Fresno’s heat.
- 5
You get a written report with photos and a written price. If something needs fixing, the price is on paper before any work starts. If it needs a full replacement, we show you the numbers and walk you through what drove them. No vague “it’ll be around this much.”
- 6
If you hire us, the work is done and then re-checked. Every repair or replacement comes with the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If it fails within a year, we come back free and make it right.

Why Fresno Homeowners Call Brennan Roofing Co Fresno for CertainTeed Work
Fresno has no shortage of roofers who will put a ladder up and tell you everything is fine. That’s not what we do. Every inspection follows the same Garrison Standard: background-checked, uniformed technicians who arrive inside the promised window, a written price before any work starts, and a full-year warranty in writing on every repair.
Travis Oakley runs this crew the way he learned the trade: straight talk, real numbers, and a job site left cleaner than we found it. We install materials from GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed, so when a CertainTeed roof fails and a patch doesn’t make sense, we can tell you exactly what a different manufacturer’s product would cost and why. We’re not married to one brand. We’re married to the roof actually working.
FAQs
No. An independent inspection does not void your CertainTeed warranty. What voids warranties is improper installation or workmanship by whoever touches the roof after the original install. That’s why we specify materials and methods carefully on every CertainTeed job.
Yes, we can typically match current-production CertainTeed colors like Weathered Wood, Driftwood, and Charcoal Black. Older lines that are discontinued can be harder. We’ll tell you if a color match is close or exact before you pay for anything. Call (559) 785-2160 and we’ll check availability.
Most inspections take 45 to 90 minutes on site, depending on roof size and attic access. You’ll have the written report within 24 hours of the visit.
CertainTeed’s Landmark and Presidential lines hold up fine in the Central Valley when installed with proper ventilation. The installer matters more than the brand. We install from all three and will tell you plainly which one we’d put on your specific roof.
We’re typically on your roof within 48 hours of your call, often sooner in the Tower District and central Fresno. Phones are answered by a live person around the clock, so you’ll speak to someone when you call, not leave a voicemail.
